Green pricing is an optional utility service that allows customers an opportunity to support a greater level of utility company investment in renewable energy technologies. Participating customers pay a premium on their electric bills to cover the cost of the additional renewable energy. To date, more than 750 utilities offer a green pricing option. DSIRE is a great source of information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives and policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. For example, if you install insulation or efficient heating/cooling equipment in 2009, you may be eligible to recieve a tax credit of $1500.
